Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Sour Cream Mixture
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional
  • 1 cup fried onions for garnish
Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Prepare the Chicken
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper.
Make the Sour Cream Mixture
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream and onion soup mix. Mix well until smooth.
Assemble the Dish
  1. Place the seasoned chicken breasts in a baking dish.
  2. Spread the sour cream mixture evenly over the chicken.
  3. If using, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
  2. Remove from oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
Serve
  1. Garnish with fried onions before serving.
  2. Serve hot with your choice of sides.
