  • 1 lb ground turkey lean
  • 1 cup orzo pasta uncooked
  • 2 cups chicken broth low sodium
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 cup spinach fresh, chopped
Seasoning
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for cooking
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper to taste

Method
 

Cook the Turkey
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground turkey and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Break up the turkey with a wooden spoon as it cooks.
Add Ingredients
  1. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the orzo and chicken broth, bringing the mixture to a boil.
Simmer
  1. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the orzo is tender.
  2. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Finish the Dish
  1. Once the orzo is cooked, stir in the cherry tomatoes and spinach. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the spinach wilts.
  2. Serve hot and enjoy!
