  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup orange juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest

Method
 

Prepare the Oven and Pan
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
Mix Dry Ingredients
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground ginger.
Mix Wet Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the honey and mix well.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the orange juice and zest.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
Bake the Cake
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
  1. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
