Method
Prepare the Oven and Pan
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
Mix Dry Ingredients
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground ginger.
Mix Wet Ingredients
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the honey and mix well.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the orange juice and zest.
Combine Mixtures
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
Bake the Cake
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
