Ingredients

Pork Chops
  • 4 pieces bone-in pork chops about 1 inch thick
Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Apple Butter Sauce
  • 1 cup apple butter store-bought or homemade
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional
Cooking Oil
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for frying

Method

Prepare the Pork Chops
  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Let the pork chops sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
Cook the Pork Chops
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the pork chops and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
Make the Apple Butter Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, mix together the apple butter, apple cider vinegar, and cinnamon until well combined.
  2. Once the pork chops are cooked, reduce the heat to low and pour the apple butter sauce over the chops.
  3. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
Serve
  1. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  2. Serve with the apple butter sauce drizzled on top.

Notes

For best results, use thick-cut pork chops and allow them to rest after cooking to retain juiciness.
