Ingredients
  

Tostada Base
  • 8 pieces corn tostadas store-bought or homemade
Ground Beef Filling
  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20 blend recommended
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese cheddar or Mexican blend
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños optional
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped, optional

Method
 

Prepare the Ground Beef
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Drain excess fat, then add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and water. Stir to combine.
  3. Simmer for 10 minutes until the mixture thickens.
Prepare Tostadas
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place corn tostadas on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes until crispy.
Assemble Tostadas
  1. Spread a layer of the ground beef mixture on each tostada.
  2. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, cheese, jalapeños, and cilantro as desired.
  3. Serve immediately and enjoy!
