Method
Prepare the Crust
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine flour, softened butter, sugar, and salt. Mix until crumbly.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x9 inch baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
Make the Filling
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Fold in the chopped figs and whipped cream until well combined.
Assemble and Bake
- Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the baked crust.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Remove and let cool completely.
Serve
- Cut into bars and serve chilled or at room temperature.
