Ingredients
  

Tofu
  • 14 oz firm tofu pressed and drained
Breading
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
Gochujang Sauce
  • 3 tbsp gochujang
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce low sodium
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
Oil for frying
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
Garnish
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds toasted
  • 2 stalks green onions sliced

Method
 

Prepare the Tofu
  1. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
Fry the Tofu
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Fry the tofu cubes in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Remove the tofu and drain on paper towels.
Make the Gochujang Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, minced garlic, and rice vinegar until smooth.
Combine and Serve
  1. In a large bowl, toss the crispy tofu with the gochujang sauce until well coated.
  2. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
