Method
Prepare the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape and Bake
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a greased baking sheet.
- Stretch the dough to fit the baking sheet and create dimples with your fingers.
- In a small bowl, mix minced garlic, oregano, black pepper, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Spread this mixture over the dough.
- Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese and sea salt on top. Drizzle with olive oil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing.
