Ingredients
  

Burger Patties
  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20 blend for best flavor
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
Toppings
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese or cheese of choice
  • 4 buns burger buns toasted
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 medium tomato sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickles sliced
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise optional
  • 1/4 cup ketchup optional
  • 1/4 cup mustard optional

Method
 

Prepare the Patties
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
Grill the Burgers
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side.
  3. Flip the patties, add a slice of cheese on top, and cook for another 4-5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
Assemble the Burgers
  1. Toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1 minute.
  2. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, then add the lettuce, patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickles, and any additional condiments.
  3. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
