Ingredients
  

Gnocchi
  • 1 pound potato gnocchi store-bought or homemade
Bolognese Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for cooking
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes 28 oz
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper to taste
Cheese Topping
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated

Method
 

Prepare the Bolognese Sauce
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
Cook the Gnocchi
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add gnocchi and cook according to package instructions until they float to the top.
  2. Drain the gnocchi and set aside.
Assemble the Bake
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked gnocchi and Bolognese sauce. Mix well.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
