Ingredients
  

Tart Crust
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1-2 tbsp cold water as needed
Filling
  • 3 medium pears peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp chai spice blend or to taste
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
Crumble Topping
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Method
 

Prepare the Tart Crust
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and powdered sugar. Add cold butter and mix until crumbly.
  2. Add egg yolk and cold water, mixing until the dough forms. Press into the tart pan and chill for 15 minutes.
Prepare the Filling
  1. In a bowl, toss sliced pears with lemon juice, brown sugar, chai spice, and cornstarch until well coated.
Make the Crumble Topping
  1. In a separate bowl, mix almond flour, oats, brown sugar, melted butter, and cinnamon until crumbly.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the pear filling over the chilled crust, then sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the pears.
  2. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the pears are tender.
Serve
  1. Allow the tart to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
