  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 2 green onions, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or chickpea flour)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grapeseed oil (for frying)
  • For Yogurt Sauce: 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp fresh dill (minced), and 1 clove garlic (minced)

Instructions

  1. Drain and pat dry the chickpeas; mash until coarse.
  2. Mix in cumin, black pepper, sea salt, green onions, garlic, flour, and egg until well combined.
  3. Heat grapeseed oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Shape the mixture into patties and fry for about 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. For the yogurt sauce, combine Greek yogurt, lemon juice, dill, garlic, and salt in a bowl.
  6. Serve warm with the chilled yogurt sauce.
