Ingredients

  • 2 Black tea bags or 1 tbsp loose leaf black tea
  • 1 Apple, thinly sliced (or 1/4 cup dried apple)
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg (or a small pinch of freshly grated nutmeg)
  • 1 Star anise pod (optional)
  • Maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil and add apple slices, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, and star anise (if using). Reduce heat and let simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add black tea to the mixture and steep for 3-5 minutes based on desired strength.
  3. Strain out the solids and pour the tea into cups.
  4. Sweeten with maple syrup or your preferred sweetener to taste.
