  • 1 lb beef strips (sirloin or ribeye)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Marinate beef strips for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Sauté sliced onions in 1 tbsp vegetable oil until soft and caramelized. Set aside.
  3. Heat remaining oil in the same pan over high heat and stir-fry marinated beef strips for 2-3 minutes until browned.
  4. Combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch in a small bowl; pour over the beef and simmer until thickened.
  5. Stir in sautéed onions; serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
