  • 1 lb frozen vegan gyoza dumplings
  • 1 lb heirloom tomatoes (mixed colors)
  • 1 English cucumber
  • 5 scallions (thinly sliced)
  • 1 red chili pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 cup basil leaves
  • 3 Tbsp Tamari (low sodium)
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 23 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds (or crispy fried onions)

Instructions

  1. Steam the frozen gyoza dumplings according to package instructions. Once done, transfer to a large bowl and toss with a teaspoon of sesame oil or water.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together tamari, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup for the dressing.
  3. Cut heirloom tomatoes into wedges, slice cucumber and scallions, and add them to the bowl with dumplings.
  4. Pour the dressing over the salad and mix gently. Tear fresh basil leaves over the top and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds or crispy fried onions.
  5. Serve at room temperature with garlic chili sauce on the side.
