  • 1 lb heirloom tomatoes (mixed colors)
  • 1 English cucumber (or 4 Persian cucumbers)
  • 5 scallions (thinly sliced)
  • 1 red chili pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 cup basil leaves
  • 3 Tbsp Tamari (low sodium)
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 23 tsp maple syrup
  • Toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Steam the frozen gyoza dumplings according to package instructions. Toss with sesame oil or water after steaming.
  2. Whisk together Tamari, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup in a bowl; pour over dumplings and toss gently.
  3. Slice heirloom tomatoes and cucumber; add them along with scallions and optional chili pepper to the dumpling mixture.
