  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups uncooked macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk (for cheese sauce)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Paprika
  • Dry mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined. Press into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Bake the meatloaf for about 20 minutes.
  4. While baking, cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  5. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; stir in flour until bubbly. Gradually whisk in milk until thickened. Add salt, pepper, paprika, dry mustard, and cheese until melted.
  6. Stir cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce and pour over the meatloaf; sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
  7. Bake again for about 25 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
