  • 2 boneless beef chops or chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups cooked Japanese short-grain rice
  • 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 green onion, sliced
  • Toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the beef or chicken cutlets with salt and pepper.
  2. Dredge each cutlet in flour, dip into beaten egg, then coat in panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat and fry each cutlet for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
