  • 8 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semolina flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup honey, warmed
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with melted butter and layer seven sheets of phyllo dough, brushing each layer with more butter.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together semolina flour, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth. Pour over the prepared phyllo base.
  4. Cover the filling with the last sheet of phyllo and brush with butter; lightly score the top.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and set. Let cool for about 10 minutes.
  6. Drizzle warmed honey over the top and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds before slicing.
