Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Blue gel food coloring
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • ½ cup crushed chocolate cookies
  • Extra mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes. Stir in sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  2. Gradually add flour and salt while kneading until you have a soft, slightly sticky dough; mix in blue food coloring.
  3. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1½ hours until doubled in size.
  4. While the dough rises, mix softened butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, crushed cookies, and mini chocolate chips for the filling.
  5. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, spread filling evenly, roll tightly from long side, and cut into 12 pieces.
  6. Place rolls in a greased baking dish; cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For icing: beat cream cheese and butter until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar and milk until desired consistency.
  9. Drizzle icing over warm rolls and sprinkle with more crushed cookies if desired.
