  • 110 g vegetable oil
  • 140 g sour cream
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 100 g dark brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100 g butter (for frosting)
  • 165 g powdered sugar
  • 23 tsp caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the caramel sauce by cooking granulated sugar and water until amber. Stir in butter and heavy cream until smooth.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and allspice.
  3. Combine granulated sugar with grated apples; add vegetable oil, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
  4. Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients and pour into a greased pan.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For frosting, beat softened butter with powdered sugar, then mix in caramel sauce.
  7. Frost cooled cake generously with caramel buttercream.
