  • 1 medium jalapeño (minced)

  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cans great northern beans (drained)
  • 1/2 pound shrimp (peeled, deveined, tails removed)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add cubed chicken and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Stir in diced onion, celery, bell pepper, and minced jalapeño; sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

  4. Gradually pour in chicken broth and add great northern beans; bring to a simmer and reduce heat slightly. Cook for about 10 minutes.
  5. Finally, stir in shrimp and heavy cream; cook until shrimp are pink and cooked through, about 2–3 minutes.
