  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 chicken hamburger buns, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, chopped
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 8 slices American cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat; drain excess fat.
  2. Sauté diced onion and minced garlic in the same skillet until fragrant.
  3. Mix Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder into the beef mixture.
  4. In a bowl, combine torn bun pieces with melted butter and sesame seeds; layer half in a greased baking dish.
  5. Add the beef mixture and dollops of special sauce made from mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, mustard, vinegar, sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  6. Top with remaining bun pieces and shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes; remove foil and add American cheese slices for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly.
