  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 4 ½5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • ½ cup mashed banana
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (for filling)
  • ½ cup brown sugar (for filling)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon (for filling)
  • 2 large bananas (sliced, for filling)
  • ¼ cup heavy cream (for topping)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (for topping)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (for topping)
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine lukewarm milk, melted butter, granulated sugar, and mashed banana until mixed well. Gradually add in flour, yeast, and salt; knead until smooth.
  2. Cover the dough with a towel and let it rise for about an hour until doubled in size.
  3. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread softened butter over it.
  4. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the buttered surface and layer thinly sliced bananas on top. Roll tightly from one edge and slice into equal pieces.
  5. Place in a greased baking dish and pour slightly warmed heavy cream over them before baking at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  6. While cooling slightly, mix together the frosting ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls.
