  • 4 cups French bread, cut in small ½ inch cubes
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup cream
  • 2 Tablespoons light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • ¼ teaspoons nutmeg
  • ¾ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoons melted butter
  • 3 Tablespoons maple syrup
  • ⅓ cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apple filling by cooking chopped apples with brown sugar, lemon juice, spices, and cornstarch in a saucepan until softened.
  2. Soak bread cubes in a mixture of eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and spices for 15 minutes.
  3. Mix melted butter with maple syrup and chopped pecans for the topping.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Fill muffin tins with soaked bread mixture and top with apple filling.
